I’ve been to Croatia for a few times and I’ve always enjoyed its unique nature – a clear water with many different shades of blue, steep, massive cliffs and wild, green coasts where a land meets high mountains rising up to the sky.
Croatia has been one of my favourite travel destinations – every trip I’ve done so far was a possibility to dive into the local culture and experience an overall atmosphere of this place. However, even though there are many advantages the country has to offer to travellers, for me it’s just an everyday sunset over the Croatian coast that has stolen my heart. Obviously there a lot of coastal areas all around the world where the landscape or other benefits are valued by travellers, but, at the same time, each of them has some characteristic strong points. In Croatia, it’s an idyllic natural environment with wide beaches, waterfalls, forests and more – which make it special.
It’s a perfect way of spending a leisurely afternoon walking along the rocky coast, feeling how the sea water touches your feet and observing the sun slowly hiding behind the horizon line.
In such moments, everything is painted by the rays of the setting sun. Wherever you look, you see a full palette of sunset colours – you can notice it on branches of trees, on old rooftops of hotels or rustic houses or on the surface of the sea.
At the same time, the sunset impacts the atmosphere in a number of ways. People seem to calm down, speak quieter and with more attention to details. Someone sits on the rock looking into the sea which has become darker and darker with every second. Another man kneels in a boat waiting for his prey. From afar, you can hear the sound of waves, the seagulls sing and a rhythm of someone’s heart. Maybe it’s just your heart which is trying to tell you that you participate in nothing but a beautiful performance of nature. And the only thing you have to do is just let it be as it is.
Act slowly. Be conscious. Just enjoy the moment.
